QUESTIONNAIRE:
How important is loyalty to you? What does it take to earn your loyalty? What extents are you willing to go through to maintain loyalty, and respect the loyalty others might have invested in you?
It's funny you ask that- growing up, my father always put a great emphasis on loyalty. I try to live up to that ideal every day! You see, when I washed up in Inazuma, I had no one at the time and was pretty much penniless. But, I was able to meet the Kamisato siblings, and I owe them so much for all the favors they've done for me. In turn, I pledged my loyalty to them, even in the darkest of times. I'm not originally from Inazuma, and when I became a retainer for the Kamisato clan, you could say that not everyone had the most positive view of that. But, their views and opinions don't matter to me. It's the least I can do to stand by their side and try to alleviate as many burdens from them as I possibly can. Whether that be cleaning the house, cooking food, or taking care of other matters, I'll happily strive to serve them to the best of my ability.
How do you define "success"? What is something you're ambitious about?
Really, all I want to do is serve milady and my lord as best as I can. They've done so much for me, and when I made the choice to stay in Inazuma, that night the gods recognized me for my ambition by giving me this Vision you see here. So I try to do what I can for them. I'm tasked with being the housekeeper for the Kamisato Clan, and I just want to bring smiles to people's faces, and I'd say I'm pretty good at it. So I guess you could say I'm pretty successful, coupled with a little bit of luck as to how I got to where I am now. Not that it was all luck, I did work very hard to become good at housekeeping! I'm pretty proud of it, and even Furuta gives me praise for it.
What is your favorite diversion? Hobbies, indulgences, vices? Would you put off important things for that diversion, or would you be more strict about how you spend your time and/or money?
Hehe, you could say I have a few. Right now, I'm really into stories about the unnatural and youkai. In Inazuma, there's a creature there known as a Tanuki, and I really want to see one shapeshift. Oh, I also was really into ninjitsu too, and I kept trying to get a ninja that I know to teach me, but now she just avoids me like the plague... But these things come second to my duties as a housekeeper. Oh, but I also really like animals! Petting them, giving them treats, knitting them little sweaters for the cold season... they're just trying to live too, you know?
An enemy of your faction has asked for a meeting, proposing a truce of sorts to deal with a greater threat. On one hand, there is indeed a threat at hand, but on the other, this person double-crossing you is just as likely an outcome. Do you agree to the meeting? Do you trust them?
I would agree to the meeting with a healthy sense of caution. Even though they may double-cross us, it's not like that wasn't going to happen anyway. But if we can bond together to take care of a greater threat, isn't that the better solution? "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." It very well may be worth the risk to try.
POWERS & ABILITIES:
Full info on his powers can be found here.
Pyro Vision:
Thoma was granted a Vision from the gods to recognize his loyalty and ambition to serve the Kamisato Clan. With it, he can attack with fire abilities and more notably, can form a few different shields around himself. One is a typical shield that will absorb attacks to a certain degree, formed after he administers a pryo-infused kick to his opponent. The other now adds an extra bulwark to his shield, shooting pyro flames out at the enemy while he attacks. Thoma manifests his pyro abilities mostly through his feet and his polearm, having a well rounded offense and defense when he is in combat.
Spear Mastery:
He studied the spear to better himself to serve- thus, with that determination and perseverance, he has become a master at it. This comes in an attack style that is hard to counter, specializing in a lot of spinning techniques that will throw any opponent off and make his victory all the more ensured.
Nerfs:
I think I'd just like a blanket nerf on all his Pyro Vision abilities, so they're not as strong as they are back at home.
SUITABILITY:
Thoma is not naive to the world around him. He left Mondstadt to go to Inazuma and ended up washing up there alone and broke, and had to figure out how to survive in a land that doesn't have the greatest view of outsiders. It took him months and months to build what he has now, where people are far more friendly with him than when he initially arrived. But don't be mistaken, he's also known for not letting people get away with crossing the Kamisatos, and will and has made people pay for it. He's a very resilient person, and can handle whatever Jigokucho will throw at him.
FACTION SUITABILITY:
Shuten Clan:
Though Thoma may prefer to talk things out, he's not short of strength. Thoma is a accomplished fighter who has studied the Inazuman spear arts, and is considered a master in it. Any skills that would help him serve the Kamisato Clan is something that he views as necessary to serve them. And he will use it if he must- his loyalty and honor are tied to them, and he won't do wrong by the siblings. It's in this same mindset that would make him suitable to the Shuten Clan as well.
Tamamo Clan:
The Tamamo Clan would find that Thoma's ability as a fixer as something valuable. He has an uncanny ability to be able to talk and socialize with everyone and everyone. In Inazuma, Thoma has a large network of people he can tap into as a resource, using that to achieve goals set before him whether it be helping out the International Trade Association deal with overbearing tax collectors or the Kamisato Clan. It's nice to be able to pull strings and even throw his weight around to get people to do what he wants. Helping out people to help other people is the name of the game, though Thoma never uses this for his own gain.
Sutoku Alliance:
With a large network of people comes access to information all around Inazuma. Thoma hears about people far and wide due to this, whispers of rumors and half-truths that can lead to something more. Even with the Sukoku Decree in place, Thoma heard tales of the Traveler's deeds in Liyue and Mondstadt, leading them to seek their help with fighting the Vision Hunt Decree. Having access to this has given him a lot of power in addition to having the backing of the Yashiro Commission, being the attendant of the Shirasagi Himegimi. And it's with that power he's able to accomplish the tasks he has as a fixer in Inazuma, and the Sutoku Alliance would benefit from his ability to gather said information.
Department of the Enma:
Thoma very much would like to keep the peace in most situations if he can. If he can avoid burning a bridge to get two groups to work together, he will- but sometimes it's unavoidable. Even so, if it helps the ones who truly need it, it's an acceptable loss. The Department of the Enma might find him a suitable negotiator of some sort. Being able to work through and find the resources to solve difficult situations between people is something Thoma is good at, even if he has to do something maybe a little shady to get there. But he does try his best not to hurt anyone in the process.
